Dr. Ted Landry was approved unanimously by the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees to serve as Interim Superintendent on May 19, 2025.

Landry has served for 30 years in public education, including nine in Conroe ISD. Most recently, he was the principal at The Woodlands High School from 2018-2025, guiding the Highlanders the UIL Lone Star Cup in 2020-21 and 2022-23. Additionally, The Woodlands High School was nationally and state ranked in academic and extracurricular programming. He first joined the District as a guidance counselor at Conroe High School from 2000-2002.

Prior to returning to Conroe ISD, Landry spent 16 years in Humble ISD, first as a guidance counselor at Kingwood High School, then assistant principal at Kingwood High School and associate principal at Atascocita High School.

During the 2011-12 school year, Landry was appointed as Special Assistant Superintendent as the result of a comprehensive curriculum audit. He worked with the administration and School Board to implement policy adoption and the administrative reorganization timeline. Landry also conducted a comprehensive review of all district policies pertaining to curriculum, drafted new and revised existing Board policies, and assisted with the general restructuring of Humble ISD’s central administration.

Landry was named principal at Kingwood High School in 2012 and claimed three prestigious Principal of the Year awards in 2018. He was poised to return to Humble ISD this year as Deputy Superintendent prior accepting the Interim Superintendent role with Conroe ISD.

A native of South Louisiana, Landry began his career as a core subject teacher, as well as a football and baseball coach at Breaux Bridge High School.

Landry served in the United States Marine Corps, before earning his bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He earned his Principal Certification in 2003 and his Doctor of Education degree in 2012, both from the University of Houston.
